Clare and Dave’s Pembroke Lodge Wedding was certainly one to remember, and not just because it was the hottest day to ever grace our planet (this is a fact). It was a fantastic day from start to finish.
Bridal preps started off nearby in Richmond, Clare as cool and calm as they come and her friends and parents all their getting ready too. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun with hints of that nervous excitement bubbling away underneath.
A short hop over the bridge into Richmond and to church of St Mary Magdalene. The church itself was beautiful and also blissfully cool inside for the ceremony. It is always heartwarming to see two people so perfectly suited to each other stand before their family and friends and make that lifetime commitment and today was no exception. Accompanied by some lovely readings and a stunning vocal solo by Esther, there was a lot of emotion in the room.
An abundance of confetti and bubbles saw Clare and Dave exit the church and head over to Pembroke Lodge for their reception. Everyone wants sunshine for their wedding, as the thermometer in my car hit 33.5 degrees it was obvious that it wasn’t going to be in short supply for this day. Fans, umbrellas and a lot of cold drinks helped to temper things a little for the guests, I was just glad not to be one of the groomsmen in their full morning suits!
This was one of those days that passes in what feels like a flash. Always something happening and a couple who were so lovely and so much fun that time just flies by. Soon it was time for a mixture of heartfelt, emotional, and incredibly funny speeches followed by a quick room turnaround and then a superbly choreographed first dance saw us into the evening.
It was a real pleasure to be a part of the day. Clare and Dave are an immense amount of fun and their day reflected that completely. I struggled immensely to narrow down a selection of images for the blog, so here follows a ridiculously large number for you to look through. Please feel free to leave a comment below, it’s always really appreciated.
