Documentary Wedding Photographer | Will & Charlie

There are sometimes huge advantages with the internet, like when Will and Charlie were looking for a documentary wedding photographer for their wedding in Wales whilst they live in Bahrain. Thankfully something that would once have been very difficult to sort can now easily be dealt with over skype and email! I was delighted when they booked me as it meant a return to South Wales, my home for 5 years whilst at University in Swansea.

As I drove to Wales on the Friday night it rained. I shouldn’t have been surprised, it rained for 5 years whilst I lived there! I spent the night hoping that come morning we’d get a break in the weather. When I got up on the morning of the wedding, opened the curtains and there was not a cloud in the sky. It was an utterly fantastic day! I hopped in the car and drove down to Barry to meet up with Charlie and her bridesmaids getting ready. It was a fun morning and everyone looked stunning. The cars to take Charlie and her bridesmaids to Colman Manor for the wedding were a bit of a surprise. For Charlie there was a lovely black Range Rover, my heart, however, was won by the bridesmaids car. A stunning split screen camper, one of my all time favourites.

Once at Colman Manor, I met up with their wedding planner Marina (from Marina Lois Events), who was absolutely fantastic. We had time for a quick walk round the venue and a chat with Will before Charlie arrived. It was quite an emotional ceremony and obvious to see how much it meant to Will and Charlie, thankfully Charlies Dad had some tissues on hand for her!!

As they now live over in Bahrain they were taking full advantage of the day to see all their friends from back over in the UK so we had an early wedding breakfast to make sure there was plenty of time for the evening party. Everyone else was happy to comply and the dance floor was packed from the off!

It was a really wonderful day, great people, lovely location, stunning weather – what more can you ask for? Below are some of my favourite images from the day.
