We headed into the main barn for the ceremony, which looked really lovely. The light was perfect and the barn made the perfect intimate setting for Kate and Will to exchange their vows. Everyone then headed back outside to enjoy some lovely spring sunshine out in the gardens with the gorgeous backdrop of the blossom trees. After a couple of group shots, a bit of mingling and chatting and then a stroll to explore the grounds it was time for the wedding breakfast and speeches.

As we started to head into the evening stages of the day, out came the vodka and sambucha shots (facial expressions hinted the vodka may not have been as popular), a bit of football, some arm wrestling and a lot of laughs. With the first dance followed by some interesting dance floor antics by Will and his friends, the party was in full swing.

From the Beaumont Estate it was a short drive over to the Holy Trinity Church in Windsor. Some traffic problems for the wedding car meant that I had plenty of time to get sorted and Graham had a little time to let the nerves build up! Thankfully the wait wasn’t too long and once arrived, all went incredibly smoothly. What was great was that the families local priest had come across from East London to give the service. This meant that the service was very personal which is always really lovely. Once all done we headed straight back to the Beaumont Estate for the reception.

Yet again, I was incredibly lucky and it was an utterly gorgeous September day. Clear blue skies, perfect temperatures and people basking in the sunshine. Once the group shots were done and dusted I headed into the Chapel to grab some shots before everyone else headed in. One thing was for certain, it reaffirmed that it really is a spectacular wedding reception venue, easily one of the most beautiful I have ever had the luck to shoot in. Amy, Graham and I then went to get a few shots of the two of them whilst everyone else found their places. As Amy and Graham entered, their fantastic Toastmaster Peter Tautz had everyone ready to cheer, waving napkins round their heads and making a noise that could probably have been heard across Berkshire!

The speeches were superb, although I am not sure Graham would agree when it came to some of the content of the speeches from his Best Men! It made for good photos though so I was fine with that! A quick turnaround of the room and we were back in for the evening reception. I love it when a dance floor is busy from the start and this was no exception and it rounded off a really fantastic day brilliantly.

From the moment I arrived at Karens parents house for the bridal preparation, I was treated like an old friend. There was a fantastic jovial mood in the house, lots of laughter and everyone just generally having a good time.

It was a stunning September morning and the sun was in a cloudless sky as we left the house for the short journey to the beautiful Warfield Church. I think one of my favourite moments of the day was, whilst waiting for Karen to walk up the aisle, I panned across to Richard. I don’t think I have seen anyone look quite as proud as he did right then. It is seeing and capturing those moments of emotion that make my job so fantastic. The service itself was excellent, the Revd Dr Mark Griffiths doing a wonderful job of the ceremony and sermon.

After a brief mingle outside the church we all headed over to Stirrups Country House for the reception. We managed to arrive at the same time as the local supercard club arrived in their Mclarens a Ferraris. It’s probably quite rare that they are upstaged, but they were today! As part of the reception, for a bit of fun, there was a par 1 golf hole. It didn’t take long for all the guys to gravitate in that direction!

Inside, the reception room had been decorated beautifully, a subtle horse racing theme throughout (It took me a moment to twig the theme, the first table I saw was called ‘Girth’!). The speeches were great and the slideshow that had been prepared of Karen through the years saw a lot of laughter with maybe a cringe or too from Karen.

All in all it was a really fun day and a pleasure to be able to be there. I’ve included a selection of my favourite images of the day. As I arrived, Jacqueline and her bridesmaids were having their hair and makeup done in one of the larger rooms downstairs before heading up to get changed. Everyone was having fun and in high spirits ready for the day ahead with the overall atmosphere being that great pre-wedding mix of relaxed excitement. Once ready we headed upstairs so they could get changed into their dresses. After discussions of sash/no sash the girls were ready and it was, all of a sudden, time for Jacqueline to go and have her meeting with the registrar via a sneaky route to avoid all the guests!

Once all done and ready, into the ceremony we went. The lighting was beautiful with two huge windows at the end of the room giving a wonderful atmosphere. After the wedding and during the signing of the register, one of the guests sang a beautiful solo which really finished the ceremony off perfectly. Once it was all over, out we headed for everyone to enjoy the summer sunshine and a drink or two.

The wedding breakfast consisted of some fantastic speeches, Nick pondered the odds of the fact he managed to find ‘the one’, whilst his best man Johnny discussed the problems facing Nick and Jacqueline along with their solutions. Both were brilliant, fantastically original and got a great reception from the guests.

When I arrived at Carolines house for the bridal prep, the weather was not looking good. The rain had just started heavily and the wind was unbelievable and it was forecast to stay like that for the rest of the day. Thankfully it didn’t really dampen the mood any and everyone was in great spirits. Bridal prep went incredibly smoothly and before you knew it Caroline was ready and in her dress and preparing not to move or sit down until the cab arrived! At this point I jumped into the car to head over to St Andrews Church in Windsor to meet up with Mark.

By the time I go to Windsor, the rain had gone, the clouds were parting and making way for some stunning sunshine…could the forecast be wrong? We’d have to wait and see. I headed into the church itself which was as pretty as a picture and run by Reverend Louise Brown who was fantastic. After the ceremony we got the formal shots done and dusted outside the church before heading into Windsor itself and to the reception at the River House. A few spots of rain on the way there but that was really the last we saw of the bad weather, we even managed to get some lovely shots outside in the sunshine and a quick sunset shot at the end of the evening shortly before I left.

I seem to have been blessed with some really lovely couples and Caroline and Mark were no exception, their wedding was a great day and I am sure is the start of a long and happy marriage together.

A short drive round the corner and we were at St Marys Church in Thatcham for the ceremony. It was a lovely, really personal service, complete with stuffed dinosaurs that like to shop. At the end of the ceremony the heavens really did open so we stayed inside to get the group shots done in the dry before Phil, being the gentleman (and new husband) he is, carried Rosie to their car so her dress didn’t get ruined!

The reception took place at the lovely Tithe Barn at Ufton Court. It’s a really beautiful barn and is set within its own walled garden in the picturesque grounds of Ufton Court. By now the weather had improved a reasonable amount which meant people could take advantage of the garden and mingle outside. There were lots of little details and everything tied in really nicely. I think one of the things I liked the most was that for dessert, the cakes were all made and supplied by guests (I initially turned down offers of cakes, but the cake balls just looked too good so I caved and had one and I am glad I did! They were delicious!!). I thought it was a really lovely idea and certainly added that extra touch of personalisation to the whole day by getting the guests involved in that way.

I had met up with Kathy and Alan a short while back for their engagement photography in Richmond Park and I knew straight away that their wedding would be one to remember. They are the exact sort of clients I love. Looking forward to their day and really just wanting to enjoy it which always translates fantastically when it comes to the pictures.

On the day, Kathy and Alan were about as relaxed and chilled out a couple as I have ever come across. Their family and friends were incredibly warm and inviting which made it a really fantastic day to be a part of. The inclusion of whiskey on each of the tables meant the dance floor was packed and there was never really a dull moment. We were also graced with some fantastic weather which allowed us to make use of the stunning grounds of the hotel, having the River Thames as a backdrop really just finished it all off perfectly.

We started off at the gorgeous All Saints Church in Marlow which is a really stunning church situated right on the river Thames. After a lovely ceremony we headed outside and stopped the traffic for a quick shot on the bridge before driving over to the Beaumont Estate in Old Windsor, Berkshire.

The drinks reception was in a lovely grand room in the White House, before heading out for some very rapid, very chilly shots in the gorgeous winters sun. After the outdoor shots, the wedding breakfast took place in The Chapel. As a wedding photographer, I see all manor of reception venues and they are, generally speaking, all pretty stunning, but once in a while you walk into a room that makes your jaw drop. That is the only way to describe The Chapel at the Beaumont Estate. It was amazing. Dinner and speeches followed, poor Matthew taking the prize for the most heckled groom ever although it didn’t phase him too much. After a short return to the drinks reception room whilst they cleared The Chapel we returned for evening reception. A really good live band rocked the night away and the dance floor was packed which is how we like it.

All in all, a brilliant day! And the photographic results:

After a week of horrendous weather, I was delighted to wake up to clear blue skies and the sort of day that you can only dream about for a January wedding. I drove over to Katys parents (rather stunning) house in Dorney Reach for the bridal prep, where everyone was as cool and as calm as can be. A few detail shots, including those incredible Irregular Choice shoes and the beautiful english flowers for the bouquets, a bit of bridal prep and off we went to St Josephs in Maidenhead for the ceremony. Full catholic mass, a choir and some musical interludes (including Katys brother on the violin) all bathed in gorgeous winter light was followed by a drink or two and a chat in the accompanying church hall afterwards.

From here we headed over to the amazing Hall Place for the reception. It’s a really beautiful venue with fantastic staff and set the scene for a really lovely afternoon and evening. There were some really lovely little details for the reception, from the Wish Tree to the little moss covered chalk board table names (and of course the amazing Weddington Boots), to the unique Cheesecake, so for a detail junky like me, I was in heaven.
